Peer-reviewed work on passive capture, AI recall, and what they change for people living with memory loss.

Fifteen older adults used a wearable camera paired with a multimodal LLM in their own homes. It kept a running text diary of what happened around them and answered spoken questions like “where did I leave my glasses?” Participants located objects more successfully with the assistant than without it, and rated the experience positively.

Fifty-one people with mild Alzheimer’s were randomised across three arms. Reviewing images captured passively by a wearable camera reduced depressive symptoms and improved everyday functional capacity compared with keeping a written diary. Quality-of-life scores did not shift, and the gains had faded by the six-month follow-up.
